Karl Lagerfeld Jeans and Atelier Reservé Launch Deadstock Capsule Collection

PARIS — Karl Lagerfeld Jeans is taking a new twist on its denim, launching a collaboration with Amsterdam-based brand Atelier Reservé created with repurposed and deadstock fabrics.

“Karl was always open to new ideas — he embraced challenges, broke the rules, and collaborated with unexpected partners which resulted in phenomenal creations,” said Karl Lagerfeld creative director Hun Kim of partnering with the young house.

Atelier Reservé is the brainchild brand of creative director Alljan Moehamad and designer Deyrinio Fraenk, cofounded in 2016.

The Karl Lagerfeld Jeans brand officially launched as an offshoot of the main line in spring 2023 with the ambition of dressing Gen Z.

“This capsule collection takes a bold and nonconforming route, inspired by our interpretation of the iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld,” said Fraenk and Moehamad in a statement. “Collaborating with Karl Lagerfeld Jeans has been a pleasure, as their commitment to innovation and dedication aligns perfectly with our own values.”

The 14-piece, genderless collection features a utility jacket and pants, baggy denim, a hoodie and T-shirts, as well as a bustier and denim skirt. The capsule is topped off with a range of accessories including a beanie, a tote, a cap, a hobo bag and a laptop case.

Fraenk and Moehamad added the Atelier’s flair with original artwork featuring a portrait of Lagerfeld, and a tongue-in-cheek tagline “Lové Karl.”

Karl Lagerfeld company highlighted that the collection is part of their overall “Karl Cares” sustainability strategy and CSR objectives.

The collection will drop on Thursday at the brand’s stand-alone store in Madrid, as well as online on its site and European marketplace Zalando.
